How much does implementing the Facilities Plan save?

The Facilities Plan saves about $5.3 million a year in efficiencies related to facility operation, maintenance, and educational operations, as shown on the chart below. Those savings are being used to help offset the cost of the upgrades. Once the project is completely paid for, those savings will be reinvested directly into smaller class sizes and other resources for students.

Effects of Plan on Operating Budget

Implementation of the long-range facilities plan will result in an operating expenditure reduction. A net reduction of 500,000 sq. ft. of unnecessary space, replacing old buildings with new, efficient buildings and consolidating attendance zones to create larger schools will produce over $5 million in annual savings as outlined in the following table:
