How are taxpayers receiving more value for their dollars on the Facilities Plan?
A favorable economy has allowed the District to provide more value for students and taxpayers. In the three years since the plan was first approved, teachers and other residents have continued to work with the District to improve the Facilities Plan. Based on recommendations from citizens, Minnesota Department of Education, board members, teachers, parents and local governments, the plan has been modified to achieve the following:
- Enact boundary changes between Denfeld and East
- Place STCs at high school sites
- Create additional space for Level 3, special education and early childhood programming
- Mitigate environmental concerns
- Meet the Board’s standards for educational adequacy
- Improve facility safety
- Upgrade multipurpose community spaces
