Upgrades
Under the Long Range Facilities Plan, Central High School will close, East High will become the site of a new eastern middle school and a new high school will be built on the Ordean site to serve students who live on the east side of Duluth. Design and construction timeline for the East High School and Ordean Stadium
Foundation work on the new school at the Ordean site has begun. Construction of the building structure has begun, with building enclosure is scheduled for fall 2010. Site work on the athletic fields will begin summer of 2010. Completion is scheduled for August 2011.

We are committed to completing the Facilities Plan on time and on budget, while also ensuring safety for all students and staff and working with as many local contractors and laborers as possible. Construction schedules will continue to evolve as we balance these commitments throughout implementation of the Facilities Plan.
Student relocation schedule
Current Ordean students have successfully transitioned to Woodland Middle School. The new East High School will open the fall of 2011.
